5 Guys Style Grilled Burger

This Five Guys Style Burger is our homemade take on a restaurant favorite. We loaded it with two juicy beef patties, two slices of melty American cheese, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and wrapped it in foil just like the original.

5 Guys Style Grilled Burger

Five Guys style burger combination of the juicy ground chuck hamburger meat, gooey cheese, smoky bacon, and fresh toppings creates that classic Five Guys flavor we love. Wrapping it in foil helps steam everything together and gives it that authentic burger-joint experience.
This has quickly become one of our favorite ways to make burgers, and after tasting it, we’re not sure we’ll be heading to Five Guys as often. The only thing missing is the famous bag fries, but we’ll definitely be adding those next time!

Ingredients

Directions

  • Weigh hamburger meat into 4 ounce balls. You need 2 for each burger.
  • Slightly flatten patty and store in frig till ready to cook.
  • Prepare fixings you want on burger (lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, onion etc.)
  • Cut squares of foil big enough to wrap burgers.
  • Turn flat top on high setting and cook bacon till nice and crispy.
  • Remove bacon and toast buns in bacon grease on grill.
  • Prepare your buns on foil with fixings and dressings of your choice. (Tip if you are cooking for a group that wants different fixings write on outside of foil so you will know who each burger goes to)
  • Heat grill to 400
  • Cook meat dont smash yet till starts to slightly darken around edge
  • Smash each patty and sprinkle with Lawry’s season salt
  • Cook till you get a good crispy sear then flip dont smash or season.
  • When patty is seared on that side hold cheese by corner and lay on grill for a couple of seconds than add to burger. Each patty gets a piece of cheese, and one patty gets the slice of bacon broke in half.
  • Stack patties and transfer to bun and immediately wrap in the foil.
