Ingredients

  • 48 Saltine Crackers

  • 1 1/2 Cups Butter

  • 1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar

  • 18 oz. Chips of your choice, Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate ( Candy Wafers work well)

  • Toppings of your choice (Nuts, Sprinkles, Candies)

Directions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out 48 saltine crackers in a single layer, edges touching as closely as possible.
  • In a heavy‑bottomed saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Heat over medium until it reaches a slow boil.
  • Allow the mixture to boil for 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  • Pour the hot caramel/toffee mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading to cover as much surface as possible.
  • Bake for 5 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them sit until melted from the residual heat.
  • Once melted, spread the chocolate evenly over the crackers.
  • Finish with your choice of toppings. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy.
